Terms of Service

Last Updated: 12/6/2025

1. Introduction

Welcome to Now Playing Card (NPC). By using our service, you agree to these terms. Our mission is simple: we provide a secure, developer-friendly way to broadcast what you are listening to from your devices to the web in real-time.

2. The Service

NPC allows you to ingest playback metadata (Track Title, Artist, Album, Artwork, Status) from your local devices and broadcast it to various destinations via our API, WebSockets, and Widgets.

We provide:

  • Real-time synchronization of your media status.
  • Public or private endpoints to display this data.
  • Tools to manage your connected devices and integrations.

3. Acceptable Use

To keep NPC running smoothly for everyone, you agree NOT to:

  • Abuse the API by sending excessive requests (rate limits apply).
  • Broadcast illegal, hateful, or malicious content via track metadata.
  • Use reverse engineering to attack or compromise the security of our infrastructure.
  • Use the service for any purpose other than personal media status broadcasting.

4. Your Data

We store the media metadata you broadcast to us to provide the history and real-time features. You retain ownership of your account data. You can delete your listening history or account at any time via the dashboard.

5. Availability & Warranty

NPC is provided "as is". While we strive for high availability and real-time performance, we do not guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free. We are not responsible for any data loss related to your listening history.

6. Changes

We may update these terms as the service evolves. Continued use of NPC after changes means you accept the new terms.
