Installation

macOS

  1. Download the DMG file for your Mac (Apple Silicon or Intel)
  2. Open the DMG and drag NPC to Applications
  3. Right-click (or Control-click) NPC and select "Open"
  4. Click "Open" in the security dialog (first time only)
  5. Grant accessibility permissions when prompted
  6. Sign in to start broadcasting
Note: macOS may show a security warning. This is normal for apps distributed outside the App Store.
Help! "App is damaged" error

If you see "NPC is damaged and can't be opened", macOS is blocking the app. To fix this, open Terminal and run:

/usr/bin/xattr -cr /Applications/NPC.app

Then open NPC normally.

Android

  1. Download the APK file
  2. Enable "Install from unknown sources" if prompted
  3. Open the APK to install
  4. Grant notification listener permission
  5. Sign in to start broadcasting
NPC runs as a highly optimized background service that won't drain your battery.
Help! "Restricted Setting" error

On Android 13+, you might see "Restricted Setting" when enabling notification access. To fix this:

  1. Go to Settings > Apps > NPC
  2. Tap the three dots (menu) in the top right
  3. Select "Allow restricted settings"
  4. Try enabling notification access again

Linux

  1. Install via Snap, Flatpak, or download the tarball
  2. Launch NPC from your application menu
  3. Sign in to start broadcasting

Extract and run the binary:

tar -xzf NPC-*.tar.gz && ./npc

For newer CPUs (2013+), use the optimized build.

Windows

  1. Download the installer (.exe)
  2. Run the installer and follow the prompts
  3. NPC will appear in your system tray
  4. Sign in to start broadcasting
NPC detects music from Spotify, browsers, and other media players via Windows Media Controls.
Help! Windows SmartScreen warning

Windows may show a SmartScreen warning because the app is new. To proceed:

  1. Click "More info"
  2. Click "Run anyway"
